Social Studies

Welcome!

 

My name is James Guy and I have the privilege of serving as a Social Studies teacher for Edgecombe Early College High School. After graduating from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a B.A. in history, I have been teaching for thirteen years here at EECHS!

 

I currently teach World History and Economics and Personal Finance Literacy. I also have the honor of serving as the Student Council Advisor and School Improvement Team Chair. Over my career, I have had the distinction of being named Edgecombe County Public Schools Teacher of the Year for 2015-2016 as well as a 2016 VIF Educator of the Year recipient. I have also a proud National Board Certified Teacher since 2020.

 

My interests otuside of school include tennis, museums, gardening, and having a strong opinion on everything.
