Edgecombe Early College High School celebrated a successful Bridge Week from July 8-12. This annual program is designed to help incoming 9th-grade scholars transition smoothly from middle school to early college. The week-long program offered a variety of enriching activities to acclimate the students to their new academic environment.

Throughout the week, students engaged in service learning projects, which not only introduced them to community service but also fostered a sense of responsibility and teamwork while taking pride in their school environment. The hands-on STEM activities, led by an instructor from Edgecombe Community College, allowed the students to explore scientific concepts in a fun and interactive manner.

In addition to academic pursuits, the program emphasized social integration and team building. Scholars had opportunities to get to know their classmates and teachers through various activities, ensuring a strong foundation for future collaboration and support.

The week culminated with a team-building excursion to East Carolina University, where students participated in activities designed to build trust and camaraderie. The trip also included their first college tour, giving the young scholars a glimpse into higher education and inspiring them to aim for academic excellence.

Bridge Week at Edgecombe Early College successfully bridged the gap between middle school and early college, leaving the students excited and prepared for the challenges and opportunities ahead. We are so excited to welcome these scholars to the EECHS family.
