application timeline

Edgecombe Early College High School has officially opened its application cycle for the Class of 2030. EECHS offers students the unique opportunity to earn a high school diploma while also working toward a college associate degree, all at no cost.

In addition to rigorous coursework, EECHS scholars will engage in activities that align with the North Carolina Portrait of a Graduate competencies, ensuring they develop key skills like leadership, communication, critical thinking, and adaptability. This program is designed to prepare students not only for college success but also to thrive in their future careers and communities.

Throughout October and November, EECHS representatives will visit Edgecombe County Public Schools middle schools to speak with all 8th-grade scholars about this unique opportunity. Parents and students are also invited to our Parent Information Night on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. in the Center for Innovation on the Tarboro Campus of Edgecombe Community College.

The application packet requires completed essay responses, recommendation forms, and academic records. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed. The deadline for submitting all materials is January 24, 2025, by 3:00 p.m. Current ECPS students should submit their applications through their middle school counselor, while non-ECPS students must bring their applications and supporting documents directly to the school.

For more information, you can visit our wepage or contact EECHS School Counselor Sheri Hayes at shayes@ecps.us or (252) 618-6550.
